What is Spirituality? Is Spirituality for all?

To give all of you this answer we need to go to eternal roots or else it would be difficult to understand or explain it in just a few words. Yes, we need to explore deeper…

We might be aware that we have a beautiful word in Sanskrit for Spirituality that is “Adhyātma”.

“Adhyātma” means getting connected to your highest self or highest soul or simply you can say to the SOURCE of your SOUL.

When you try to know your SOURCE of creation and when you try to move towards that CREATIVE FORCE, the Spiritual Journey begins…

In simple, the Inward Journey or process towards knowing your Highest Self, True Self, Eternal Self, Supreme Soul, Atman, Brahman or Simply the Source of Creation can be termed as the Spiritual Journey. The path of Spiritual Journey leads towards Liberation or Moksha or Mukti.

At this point, now first, we need to know what is Moksha and is Moksha necessary?!

Each SOUL after getting created takes birth on Earth because being in SOUL form or Energy form NO growth in terms of Intelligence, Maturity, Quality, Strength and Self Mastery is possible. Hence a SOUL takes birth on Earth to improve its qualities, for gaining certain mandatory experiences, for learning required lessons, paying off Karma of previous births, purifying & developing itself through Spiritual Sadhana and eventually proceed towards Moksha.

This process is mandatory for ALL SOULS with zero exception and sole purpose of each SOUL on Earth.

The process of going back to real home and cutting off from the death and birth cycles from Earth, that is Moksha or Liberation thus, is NOT only necessary but mandatory.

So we can say Moksha or Liberation is a MUST look out of every SOUL, whether one knows it consciously or not. For this whole process the required time span or pace vary from soul to soul depending on their interest, effort and attitude.

Just for information, it may be noted here, after attaining Moksha the SOUL is fully upgraded and ready to take up higher responsibilities and then begins another level of journey for it, beyond this Earth realm which is NOT today’s topic and we would not discuss here…

So we can see, when Moksha is the inevitable and mandatory purpose of each SOUL, Inward journey is also required and a must for every SOUL.

For this entire Inward Journey some disciplinary practices (Sadhana) is required, though few ideologies believe that spirituality does not mean any particular practice, it is just a way of being. But we must not forget the fact that this particular way of being which is healthy and useful for SOUL growth, never came down on Earth without certain particular practices and spiritual knowledge. Though each and every action of a SOUL on Earth is counted into its SOUL data or record, still certain conscious practice with genuine effort and awareness is mandatory for proper SOUL growth and Spiritual Sadhana.

PREPARATION, PURIFICATION and Particular Practices are MUST for Spiritual growth which eventually would lead towards Moksha.

Now in this Kali Yuga, various QUESTIONS arise among Humanity on Spirituality and Spiritual Practices like,

1. Is Spirituality for all?
2. Is Spiritual practice to be followed by all regularly?
3. Is Spirituality mandatory for a healthy and normal life?
4. Can Life be lived without following the Spiritual Path?
5. Is Spirituality required when we can live the Life somewhat easily by the mechanism of this Worldly society?

And the ANSWER is both YES & NO. If we say NO, it would be injustice to Humanity because it would be pushing them towards eternal enslavement and if we say YES, it is definitely incorrect because the right time of Spiritual Journey matters for each SOUL to perform each activity or process.

Let’s see how and why…

First of all we have to get some idea on different stages of SOUL and journey of SOUL to understand the topic better.

Souls can be put into various stages as below, based on their years of creation (soul age) and journey on Earth or births taken on Earth, you can say.

• New SOUL or newly created SOUL ( less than 500 years and less than 5 lives )
• Young SOUL ( <1000 years and <10 lives )
• Matured SOUL ( < 10,000 years and < 100 lives )
• Transcendental ( < than 15,000 years and < 150 lives )
• Beyond (>15,000 years)

In today’s current scenario, percentage wise, if we intuitively observe distribution on Earth would be like this:

• New SOULS – Less than 5%
• Young SOULS – < 15%
• Matured SOULS – < 80%
• Transcendental SOULS- only few numbers
• Beyond- we do not wish to comment on this

Note: Above calculation is applicable only when souls grow naturally by following the existential plan or else they may not become matured even after 100 lives. Rather reverse journey is also possible from a certain stage, same time one can go or grow to the next level with less number of lives also with their own interest & effort on spiritual path.
